SKIP HEALY est considéré comme l’un des plus grands joueurs de flûte et de fifre au monde. Né à East Greenwich, Rhode Island, il a commencé à jouer du fifre à l’âge de 8 ans. Très vite, il s’est intéressé à l'histoire de ces airs de musique qu’il jouait, et ansi, a découvert la musique traditionnelle de flûte celtique. Son style est à la fois traditionnel et moderne. Il a joué dans les plus célèbres salles de concert du monde y compris le Carnegie Hall et le Lincoln Center à New York ainsi qu'aux Tattoos de Bâle, Berlin et Avenches. Il est également reconnu en tant que fabricant de fifres et de flûtes de sa propre conception. Il a reçu les plus grands honneurs du Conseil des arts dans son pays d’origine et à également été nominé pour un Grammy. En tant que consultant musical, son travail a été présenté dans des films tels que les Pirates des Caraïbes.

Skip Healy hat die höchste Auszeichnung von der Arts Council in seinem Heimatstaat erhalten und wurde auch für den "Grammy-Awards" nominiert. His style is at once both traditional and progressive with a blend of traditional tunes played with a modern presentation. He has performed in most of the world's most famous concert venues, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York City, as well as the Basel, Berlin and Avenches Tattoos. He is also regarded as a leading maker of fifes and flutes of his own design. He has received the highest honors from the Arts Council in his home state and also been nominated for Grammy Awards. As a musical consultant his work has been featured in films such as The Pirates of the Carribean among others.
